SuperMom doesn't wear a cape

SuperMom doesn't wear a cape she owns an iron instead. Today I New England Patriots day at my kidlets school! My daughter who at one point had every Patriots apparel possible seem to have nothing. Well... except that nice pink game day jersey that she oh so nice cut a hole in! Yes she cut a hole in her $40 jersey. Why you might ask? Well of course because she's a future fashion designer! So being the mom I am I ran out yesterday in search of any Patriots shirt I could find and to my amazement they had NOTHING!! Oh that's probably because we made the play-offs and the game is Sunday. I immediately began to panic "oh no she will be the only one not wearing Patriots clothing" "she will be scarred for life because in kindergarten she didn't wear a Patriots shirt" so I did what any sane mom would do. I bought a plain white long sleeve shirt and set off to make her one. I went home and scoured the internet for that perfect picture which I found. Then I printed it on iron paper (backwards) and began the long process of ironing the logo onto her shirt! But then I had a brilliant idea "WHY NOT STEP IT UP A BIT" so I ran to my crafting dresser (yes an entire dresser full of ribbons embellishments fabric etc) and grabbed some white ribbon. Light Bulb!! I am going to make her Patriots Hair Ribbon. So I spent more time ironing the logo onto ribbon grabbed some blue ribbon and made a hair pony. Project complete I was so proud of myself I went to show off my amazingness to my daughter I explained that the stores were sold out so I had to make it myself I showed her the matching pony boy was I super excited and proud until.... Little Miss turns to me and says "oh yea" OH YEA OH YEA that's all she said!! Not "thank you mom" not "wow" nothing showing appreciation just OH YEA!!! I almost lost it I spent so much time and effort making this shirt and pony for her I was so proud but then I remembered SHE'S 5! She doesn't quite understand she probably would have been fine wearing a plain old shirt to school today in 10 years she wouldn't look back and thinking "That one time I didn't have a Patriots shirt was the worst day ever" but I do know when she looks back at pictures she will understand what I did because her face was absolutely beaming this morning when she put that shirt on. As she was putting her coat on she said " today at news to share I am going to tell everyone that you made this shirt for me" At that moment I knew she truly appreciated what I had done. My son on the other hand saw the shirt I had made and immediately wanted me to make him one I told him if the Patriots make it to the Superbowl I will make him one too! Here are a few pictures!!
